For researching Stefán Karl or anything else online!

This page serves as a go-to resource for me and others interested in learning more about Stefán, finding information, and content. It can also prove useful in other topics you'd like to research.

Let's get to it, shall we?

1. Using quotation marks:

When using Google, people often type what they want like this:

stefán karl theater shows

While effective, using quotes can refine your search even more, like this:

"Stefán Karl" "theater shows"

Quotation marks make the search engine specifically look for pages with both "Stefán Karl" and "theater shows"

Searching without quotes might give pages with just "theater" or "show" or even "Stefán" or "Karl"

"Stefan Karl" is a fairly common name, especially "Stefan" and "Karl," using quotes reduces the chances of encountering someone other than our familiar Stefan Karl, especially on news sites or social media. Google usually knows who you're talking about. Usually.

For broad topics, use fewer, more general words to maximize results. "Stefán Karl" "Theater" gets more results than "Stefán Karl" "Theater" "Los Angeles" "Grinch" "2009."

Although adding more words is great for being more specific, but be warned! The more words you add, the fewer results you'll find if none.

Adding quotation marks also helps with full quotes, titles, or sentences. For example:

"Time is the most valuable thing in life because it never comes back."

Searching for this quote can reveal where it's been quoted online. If you have an unidentified page or quote, enclosing it in quotes during the search can lead you to its origin or any mentions of its source.

2. Boolean Operators

"AND" narrows results, "OR" broadens, and "NOT" excludes. This is particularly useful when your initial search produces too many or too few results.

You can also use the minus symbol "-" to exclude words too. For example "Stefán Karl" -Robbie -Rotten displays results without mentions of Robbie Rotten.

You can also try this:

"Stefán Karl" before:2016

"Stefán Karl" after:2016

Works on Google and YouTube; I haven't tested it on other services. It helps you find results before or after a specific year!

You can even do this to pinpoint a specific timeframe:

"Stefán Karl" before:2019 after:2015

"Stefán Karl" before:2011 after:2009

3. Synonyms and Related Terms

For example, if you're interested in Stefán Karl's stage performances, synonyms like "Theater" or "Broadway" or "Musical" or "Show" or "Live" or "Performance" can help your search.

Even different spellings matter; try finding results using "theater" or "theatre." And if you're willing to delve deeper, try misspellings too!

4. Advanced Search Filters

Most search engines have filters or tools. Use options like dates, file types, or specific websites to narrow down your results based on what you're looking for.

6. Keywords I usually use

Name keywords:

Tip: Notice the different spellings, certain search engines change the results of whether you add an accent on a letter or not.

As for "Stefáni Karli" and "Stefáns Karls"

In Icelandic, names can slightly change depending on how they're grammatically used.

His nickname is "Stebbi"

If you're just searching for "Stebbi" then be aware that it's a nickname for ANYONE named "Stefán" in Iceland!

Lazytown terms:

Grinch terms:

Can also work for other things if you remove "Grinch"! Combine any of those terms and play around to see what different results you could get :)

These can apply to other things he worked on or is related to as well.

Tip:Icelandic terms will always yield more unique results than English ones.

7. Usual websites to search from other than search engines:

Heads up! Lately, I've noticed it's become harder to search on a lot of social media sites, but I still recommend trying to see what comes up.

Tip:There are times in the year that I'd consider to be "hotspots" for more content to be posted.

Sometimes the holidays or mostly it's around his birthday on July 10th.

From July to August is generally a good time for new things to pop up.

December is also a good month, especially for anything related to the Grinch.
